Bella loves this sauce. It's one of her favorite things to eat. She dips pretzels, tortilla chips, her fingers, anything into it and scarfs it down. I've even made her a mac and cheese with it and she enjoys it thoroughly.
- 1 cup soaked cashews
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup Earth Balance
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1 Tbs. white miso
- 2 Tbs. arrowroot flour
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1/2 tsp onion salt
Puree the cashews and water together. Set aside.
In a saute pan on medium low to low, melt down the Earth Balance and coconut oil. Add in the white miso and let that heat through. Then add in the arrowroot flour and whisk until smooth and bubbly. Whisk in your nutritional yeast. Then add in the mustard powder and onion salt. Whisk to combine. Finally, add in the cashew puree and whisk until bubbly. Thin out or cook down to thicken as you prefer. Salt to taste and spice as you like. Some suggestions below.
